User Persona and Journey 3

For our 3rd user journey, we looked more to the managerial side of things and looked at Sam, a full-time supervisor. Sam's role is to be Andrew's right-hand man, looking at the admin side of things and keeping everything in check. When looking at the app, she would like a way of looking at the full week's rota, as well as adding to this rota. She would also like a way to communicate with Andrew for work related issues. She would also like an easy to use payroll system that allows for the least amount of human error as possible. On Sam's journey, we look at how she would pay one of the employees at Stellar Events. We can see that throughout the whole process, she is always anxious and nervous. This is mostly due to the sensitive matter of payroll. There is a lot of human input, therefore a lot of margin for error. Error on Sam's behalf could lead to someone being underpaid. On her journey, she needs to look at things such as how many hours the person has worked, their hourly rate and also if they have had any time off, or worked overtime. To get this figures, she will need to look through diaries and books, or even ask the staff member themselves. This is a long-winded process. Once the person has been correctly paid, Sam is much more relaxed and can focus on other tasks. The opportunities we can gain from Sam are to have a payroll system where each person has all of their information already inputted when they are first employed, therefore their pay can be very quickly calculated through a computer. The payroll will also link back to the rota so a persons hours can easily be found and linked to themselves. By having everything automated, it removes the human error factor and helps towards a hassle free process. However, when overtime or sick pay needs to be added, this can be done so through manual input. Another opportunity for us with an app is the full weekly rota. This is a big help for all staff and management to keep track of not only their own shifts, but any other shifts that they may want to view.
